Parker Duofold Fountain Pen International Jasper
Lovely Parker Duofold Jasper (red marble effect) fountain pen with 18k Gold medium nib. Unused.
This pen is in mint condition and has original converter. The barrel code IIIP dates it to the first quarter of 1997.
A short history:
Since its launch in 1988 the Duofold collection continued to be the flagship of the Parker writing instruments. Sales reached a worldwide peak in 1991. Increased competition highlighted the need for a redesign of the range in 1996. The changes were discreet but stylish and greatly enhanced the appearance of all the models. The cap tassie was altered to a tapered profile and the barrel button was also tapered and shortened. A new dome shaped, die struck emblem with the Duofold ribbon graphic was standardised across all the writing instruments The band configuration was also changed. The pen nib graphics were altered to create added visual interest. Three new colours were introduced: Jasper, Jade and Lapis Lazuli. They replaced the Marbled finishes, Maroon, Blue and Green which were discontinued. Once again they were made from acrylic. The Black, and Pearl and Black were retained.
