Yard-O-Led Grand Victorian Sterling Silver Fountain Pen, Broad 18k Gold Nib, 2011
This is a huge Yard-O-Led Grand Victorian fountain pen in solid sterling silver. It is fully hallmarked with British assay marks and fitted with a wet and smooth 18k broad nib. It is in wonderful condition.
All Yard-O-Led writing instruments are handcrafted in England from solid sterling silver. The unique clip is crafted by 8 different processes, and every pen is individually numbered.
The heavily engraved finish of the Grand Victorian highlights the intricate work of the Yard-O-Led craftsmen, with each part of the detailed motif meticulously hammered by hand.
The larger version of the classic Viceroy – a pen with substantial dimensions and reflecting a late 19th century style. Takes standard size cartridges (converter supplied fitted).
No box available.
Hallmarks:
YOL: The Sponsor's/Maker's Mark, uniquely registered to the Yard-O-Led Pencil Company.
925 with scales on either side: The Common Control Mark (Convention Mark). This allows the silver to be legally sold across countries that signed the Vienna Hallmarking Convention without needing to be re-tested.
Oval with 925 inside: The modern Fineness Mark, certifying that the body is solid .925 sterling silver.
Anchor on its side: The Town Mark for the Birmingham Assay Office, where all Yard-O-Led pens are tested and stamped.
Lion facing left: The traditional Standard Mark (Lion Passant) used historically to denote English sterling silver
Lowercase m in a box with angled corners: The specific Date Letter that confirms the hallmarking year as 2011.
Weight: 66 grams
Length Capped: 148mm
Length Open: 138mm
