A new, boxed Parker Duofold Centennial Fountain Pen Lucky 8 Limited Edition 2606/3888.
To celebrate the 120th Anniversary of the Parker Pen Company in 2008, Parker made a limited series of 3,888 Duofold Pens called the Lucky 8. The cap and barrel are octagonal in shape made from a black and smokey grey acrylic. The nib has the traditional 'retro' Arrow-Style engraving which is also present on the clip. The nib was only made in a Medium grade. The cap band is engraved with 'PARKER DUOFOLD' and 23ct gold plated.
The Duofold Lucky 8 features classic aesthetics that gave Parker its iconic reputation to make it an anniversary pen with a difference. A contemporary take on one of the first faceted, ‘anti-roll’ designs and a celebration of the ‘Lucky Curve’ ink feed patented by George S. Parker in 1894, the Lucky 8 is constructed from deep black, precision-machined, cast acrylic that produces randomly occurring smoky grey ripples, making each pen entirely unique. Its octagonal body is accented with 23K gold-plated trim including the Parker feather arrow clip and the wide cap band.
The exceptional fountain pen nib is crafted in solid 18K gold engraved with retro arrow graphics and the original Parker logo of the 1920’s.
In keeping with the 8’s theme, the Lucky 8 was first introduced to the world on August 8, 2008 at the Olympic Games in China, where the number 8 represents good luck and fortune.
The limited edition fountain pen is presented in a magnificent octagonal black lacquered wood box with high-gloss piano finish and includes a specially-designed bottle of Parker Quink ink, a commemorative booklet and certificate of authenticity. The Duofold Lucky 8 adheres to the company philosophy set forth by George S. Parker 120 years ago, “Make something better and people will buy it.” Uses cartridges or converter.
