This is a genuine vintage 9k yellow gold Freemasons Masonic Ball in excellent condition. This Golden Globe and Cross fob represents the pinnacle in geometric design and craftsmanship for Masonic jewellery. In its closed position it looks very much like a “Ballot Ball” that one would use during Masonic voting, however, by an ingenious hinge that is imperceptible from the exterior, it may be opened out into the form of a cross.
Each section is pyramidical in shape with a spherical base. Each pyramid is oxidized silver, with each symbol engraved into pure silver, this allowing each emblem to be clearly seen. The arms are crafted in 9k gold and the main ball is 9k gold over solid silver. It opens as one unit from one main hinge as shown in the photos below.
Weight: 6.9 grams.
Size: The ball when closed is about 15mm in diameter and the cross section is 39mm by 26mm.
